I always look for unique experiences. My husband and I stayed the end of Sept. 2021 and we had a great time. It can be a little nerve wracking booking a rental by owner with few reviews, especially a newer rental. Rest assured, everything is as described and pictured on the website, no surprises. Toni is an excellent host and her employee David is great.
Toni is very responsive - text, email, phone call, whichever your prefer! Also, she is very respectful of your time on the island. They had to stop by once to change the oil in the new generator but she was sure to contact us before coming to find a time that would be least disruptive of our vacation.
The houseboat, boat used to get to and from the marina and island are in great condition. The layout and decor on the island reminded us of some resorts we've stayed at. It is peaceful and tranquil - the relaxing vacation we were looking for with the right amount of activities available. We fished from land and the boat, snorkeled around the island, went paddle boarding, played games, caught up on reading and saw amazing sunrises and sunsets. The iguanas kept us company on land. In the water, we saw nurse sharks, barracuda, manatee, eel, sea turtle, lobster, snapper, conch and tons of other fish.
We've already made recommendations to family and friends and hope to book again ourselves! If you enjoy nature and a vacation away from the hustle and bustle of typical Florida rentals then do not hesitate to book Our Florida Island.
